PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE PROTECTS AND SAFEGUARDS.

Interruptions in the crucial cold supply are expensive and unproductive.

An uninterruptible supply of cold energy is crucial for production. With professionally performed maintenance, you maintain the availability of your refrigeration plant and secure production, thanks to planned preventive maintenance.

Preventive maintenance not only serves availability and prevents expensive downtimes, but it also saves energy and prevents unnecessary pollution. After all, an ideally adjusted and operated refrigeration plant reduces energy consumption to the necessary minimum.

Professional maintenance performed by WEISSHAAR trained service technicians satisfies the operator obligations which have been tightened by lawmakers. A specifically optimised cooling plant complies with the high requirements laid down by lawmakers in accordance with increasing awareness of energy consumption and the latest EU Directives.

All WEISSHAAR service technicians are regularly trained according to the expertise required by the legislature.

WEISSHAAR implements a certified occupational health and safety management system according to ILO-OSH 2001 and ISO 45001:2018.

Spare parts directly from the manufacturer

We ensure the daily availability of the plant with high-quality and original spare parts directly from the manufacturer.

Thanks to the most service-friendly design of the plants, maintenance-friendly accessibility is ensured. Components that are subject to regular wear or have to be replaced at regular intervals for hygienic reasons are easily accessible.

But if a component is defective that is not the focus of wear and tear, we are happy to help with original manufacturer parts. And: We look for the cause of the failure. Even after the warranty.

REPAIRS AND REFITTING

Planning and design energy-saving refrigeration plants

WEISSHAAR has extensive experience in planning and designing more environmentally friendly and energy-saving refrigeration plants and is a member of the "Energy Efficiency Export Initiative " set up by the German Federal Ministry of Economics.

We have established ourselves as a competent partner for a number of companies, in particular, for converting refrigerants. WEISSHAAR carried out the mandatory phase out of refrigerant R124 back in 1995 and switched to the very widely used refrigerant R227 – both on its in-house test facilities as well as in comprehensive field tests.

Recent years have seen various changes in the legal regulations, which are constantly evolving.

Brief history and current overview:

Stratospheric ozone depletion and the atmospheric greenhouse effect caused by refrigerant emissions have led to drastic changes in refrigeration and air conditioning technology since the early 1990s.

The use of the former CFC refrigerants that contribute to ozone depletion, e.g. R12, R22 R12B1, is no longer permitted in industrialised countries, but there have been extended transition periods for the HCFC refrigerant R22. However, there was also an early phase-out of R22 in the European Union, which was implemented in several stages (R22 as a transitional refrigerant).

With the chlorine-free (ODP = 0) HFC refrigerants R134a, R404A, R407C and R227fa with R236ea widely used in industrial refrigeration, air conditioning and crane temperature control systems for years, new challenges are now on the horizon. These primarily concern the issue of the greenhouse effect. The aim is to significantly reduce direct emissions due to refrigerant losses and indirect emissions through the use of particularly efficient system technology.

Corresponding legal requirements already exist in this regard, such as the EU F-Gas Regulation 517/2014, as well as a number of regulations already ratified or in preparation within the framework of the EU Ecodesign Directive. Similar requirements are either in preparation or effective in Australia, Canada and the USA. At international level, the so-called "Kigali Amendment" was adopted in 2016 within the framework of the Montreal Protocol. This includes a phased reduction of HFCs ("HFC phase-down"), starting in 2019.

Although the indirect emissions from energy generation are disproportionately higher than the direct (CO2-equivalent) emissions from HFC refrigerants, restrictions or bans on the use of refrigerants with a high global warming potential (GWP) will come into effect in the future. This primarily pertains to refrigerants with a high to very high global warming potential, for which alternatives with a lower GWP are already available.

Over time, substitutes that have ever lower greenhouse equivalents are being introduced in stages to the market, with a tendency also towards combustible materials. We are careful here to achieve the goals set in a harmless, operationally reliable and economical manner.

In addition to new operator obligations, it is also necessary to observe the EU F-Gas Regulation 517/2014. We offer you individual retrofit packages and shall be happy to advise you on this in order to safeguard your investment in the future.

Refrigeration plants can often also be modified to meet the current regulations or retrofitted with energy-saving components. Please contact us for your individual quotation.
